The VeloSoleX Switzerland club invited us to its annual club outing! This time, the trip took us to the region between Bern and Thun. During the ride through the Gürbetal valley, we enjoyed picturesque views of the Bernese Alps with the famous Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains. At lunchtime, we stopped off in the town of Thun. We also visited Christof Kipfers Velo-Solex workshop. On the way back, we visited the Oldtimer Galery Toffenbefore the cozy get-together begins in the evening.

On Saturday, September 13 2025, the 5th ride of the VeloSoleX Switzerland association will take place. This time we will visit the region between our capital Bern and Lake Thun. The starting point will be Belp. Further information and registration will follow in spring. All information can be found in the agenda.

You can join as a passive member in the first step for only CHF 35 per year. Once you have registered, you are provisionally accepted as a passive member. Definitive admission takes place at the Annual General Meeting.
Admission to active membership takes place after at least one year of passive membership and at your request. The club meeting then decides whether further active members are accepted into the club and determines the conditions for admission.

Dear Solex community. The VeloSoleX Switzerland association wishes you happy holidays and a happy new year.
Unter blauem Himmel trafen sich 51 Solexer und Solexerinnen am 14. September 2024 in Allaman im Kanton Waadt zur jährlichen Ausfahrt vom Verein VeloSoleX Schweiz. Die knapp 60 Kilometer lange Route führte uns zunächst in die Weinregion „La Côte“ und zu einer Weinkeller-Führung im Château de Vinzel. We continued through the vineyards across the French border to Divonne-les-Bains and from there to Nyon on Lake Geneva. We braved the strong headwind along the lake back to Allaman. In the evening, we were treated to a wine tasting organised by the Domaine de la Tuilière and a three-course meal by two members of the Club Les Potes au Feu .

He even found like-minded people: Ernst “Aschi” from Hettiswil and Monika and Hansueli from Bolligen. In a roundabout way, Katrin and Noldi from Rekingen in Aargau joined us, who had never sat on a Solex before!

The sixth Solex route has now been launched. It leads around part of Lake Lucerne. On the way you pass through the city of Lucerne, through Hergiswil and Stans, take the ferry to Gersau, past Vitznau and Küssnacht.
Unter „Routes„ you can find the overview map. Once you have found your desired route, you can simply download it. It is available both digitally (.gpx and .kml) and analogue (.pdf).

My name is Rolf. At the “old” age of 72, I bought this old Solex. I drove something like this around 55 years ago, at the age of 14, without having to wear a helmet and without a test. So – there are a lot of old memories attached to it too.
Now I use the “Göppel” (coll. for an old and rattly bike or bicycle) for short distances. Not to forget, just for fun.
